New Maruti Ertiga April 2026 Review

Maruti Ertiga April 2026 Review – Is it still India’s favourite MPV? –

For over a decade, the Maruti Ertiga has dominated India’s MPV segment, winning hearts with its spacious 7-seater cabin, affordable pricing and Maruti Suzuki’s unmatched service network. But with rising competition from the Kia Carens, Toyota Rumion and Mahindra Marazzo, is the 2026 Maruti Ertiga still a favourite? Let’s take a look at it.

Maruti Ertiga Design: Simple yet elegant –

The new Ertiga features a clean design that stays true to its family-friendly character. The front gets a wide chrome grille with projector headlamps, flanked by sleek LED DRLs on either side.

Ertiga Exterior Features:

  1. LED projector headlamps with DRLs.
  2. 15-inch steel wheels with covers (alloys on top variants).
  3. Body-coloured bumpers and door handles.

Updated bumpers and a tall boxy silhouette give it a practical and spacious look, while the smooth roofline retains the classic MPV identity. Maruti has kept the Ertiga’s familiar design intact so that it is easily recognisable on Indian roads.

Maruti Ertiga Interior and Features: Space is the king –

The Ertiga’s interior comes with better materials and a more premium feel than before. The dual-tone dashboard features a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making the cabin feel comfortable and connected.

Ertiga Interior Key Highlights:

1.Arkamys-tuned sound system for enhanced audio.

  1. Automatic climate control with rear AC vents.
  2. Captain seats option in middle row (CNG variants).
  3. Multi-function steering wheel and cruise control.

While the Kia Carens offers a larger touchscreen and more premium features, the Ertiga focuses on maximum practicality and comfort for all seven passengers.

Maruti Ertiga Performance and Mileage: The efficiency champion –

The Ertiga is powered by a 1.5L K-series petrol engine producing 103 bhp. There is an option of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The engine is smooth and refined, performing excellently in city traffic and on long highway drives alike.

The ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency is 20.3 kmpl (petrol manual). Maruti also offers a factory-fitted CNG variant claiming 26.11 km/kg, making the Ertiga the most fuel-efficient 7-seater MPV in India and a top choice for cab operators and large families.

Maruti Ertiga Price –

The new Ertiga is priced between ₹8.69 lakh and ₹13.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ertiga is significantly more affordable than the Kia Carens (₹10.52 – ₹19.29 lakh) and the Toyota Rumion (₹10.28 – ₹14.57 lakh), making it the most value-for-money 7-seater MPV in the Indian market.

Verdict: Ertiga is still the family MPV champion –

The Maruti Ertiga 2026 may not be the most feature-rich or powerful MPV, but what matters to Indian families is:

  1. Best-in-class fuel efficiency with CNG option.
  2. Spacious 7-seater cabin at an affordable price.
  3. Low maintenance costs and Maruti’s pan-India service network.
  4. Smooth and reliable engine for long family trips.

While other manufacturers may offer better technology or more powerful engines, the Ertiga’s blend of space, efficiency and affordability keeps it firmly at the top of India’s MPV segment.
