With the unveil done, the big unknown is the price. Hyundai will reveal it, along with the variants and colours, on October 26, 2026. Here is what we know and what to expect.

Expected Price
Estimates from different reports agree on the starting point but not the top end:
- Starting price: around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Top end: between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 18 lakh, depending on the estimate
These are expectations and not Hyundai’s figures. The Creta currently ranges from Rs 10.91 lakh to Rs 20.46 lakh, so the Bayon’s pricing needs to leave a clear gap for the Creta, and for the larger next-generation model due early next year.
Where It Fits

The Bayon sits between the sub-4-metre Venue and the Creta. With only one engine, a lean variant range seems likely, and that may help Hyundai price it sharply.
Rivals
The Bayon enters a crowded segment. Its rivals include:
- Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun: established compact SUVs, with several engine options
- Maruti Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: popular, feature-rich alternatives from the Maruti-Toyota stable
- Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, Citroen Aircross X: newer or returning names competing on design and value
- Honda Elevate, MG Astor: the other conventional options in the class
The Bayon’s strongest points against them are its dual 12.3-inch screens, its AI assistant and its long connected-tech list. The biggest weakness is the engine choice.
What To Watch For On Launch Day
- The base-variant price, and how close it is to the Creta
- Which variants get Level-2 ADAS, the sunroof and ventilated seats
- Which colours are offered
- Delivery timelines and the connected-service subscription terms
Our Take
If Hyundai prices the Bayon aggressively, its looks, cabin and features give it a good chance in the segment. The single petrol engine is the main reason to wait for the price and compare before booking.
Prices are expected figures only. Official pricing will be announced on October 26, 2026.
