Toyota Glanza Facelift Teased Ahead Of October 14 Launch: New Engine, ADAS Expected

Teaser reveals a new front end; cabin and power train details are yet to be confirmed.

Highlights –

  • Launch date confirmed as October 14, 2026
  • Teaser shows only the front end so far
  • New 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine and Level 2 ADAS expected

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released the first teaser of the Glanza face lift, three days before its India launch on October 14. The Glanza is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which got its own update in September, so the changes are expected to follow the same pattern. Toyota has not confirmed that everything beyond the front end shown in the teaser is based on the Baleno.

What The Teaser Shows –

The clip reveals only the front profile.

  • Logo: The Toyota emblem now sits on the leading edge of the bonnet.
  • Bumper: The U-shaped chin element, earlier finished in black, now appears in chrome. The bumper design looks revised.
  • Lighting: The LED fog lamps sit in new square housings. The headlamp clusters look largely unchanged.
  • Color: The teaser car is red. The full colour palette has not been shown.

The overall silhouette should remain familiar. Toyota has not teased the side or rear, so we don’t yet know whether new wheels or tail-lamp changes are coming.

Power train (Expected) –

The bigger change is likely under the bonnet. The current Glanza uses a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12N-series petrol. As a result, the face lift is expected to switch to the Baleno’s new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E-series petrol.

  • Maruti claims the new engine offers better low-speed response and drivability. A three-cylinder unit may slightly affect refinement.
  • The CNG variant is expected to get an AMT option, as on the Baleno face lift. The CNG tanks will sit in the boot and reduce usable space.
  • Toyota has not announced mileage figures. A new engine does not guarantee better efficiency, so wait for the claimed numbers and real-world tests.

Features (Expected) –

Toyota has not teased the cabin. Going by the updated Baleno, the Glanza face lift could get:

  • Ventilated front seats
  • Level 2 ADAS (AEB, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto High Beam Assist), with a physical on/off button
  • 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 6-speaker Clarion audio system
  • Wireless phone charger

Toyota will confirm the final feature list and variant-wise availability at launch.

Expected Price –

The current Glanza costs Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect a slight premium for the face lift, since it is likely to add a new engine and more equipment. Toyota has not announced official pricing.

Rivals –

The Glanza face lift will take on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20. The Baleno is the closest rival because the two cars share a platform and power train. Maruti reportedly sold over 25,000 units of the facelifted Baleno in its first month, though it remains to be seen whether that demand holds.

Our Take –

The teaser points to a focused update: fresh front styling, a new engine and a better-equipped cabin. These changes largely mirror the Baleno’s, so the pricing gap between the two will matter most on launch day. If Toyota adds useful features at a modest premium, the Glanza could stay relevant in a shrinking premium hatchback segment. Compare variants and gearbox options rather than just the starting price.

The Glanza face lift launches on October 14, 2026. Toyota should confirm specifications, variants and prices on the day.
