New Tata Nexon April 2026 Review

Tata Nexon April 2026 Review –Is it still India’s favourite compact SUV? –

For nearly a decade, the Tata Nexon has ruled India’s compact SUV segment, winning hearts with its bold styling, top-class safety ratings and impressive feature list. But with strong competition from the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos, is the 2026 Tata Nexon still a favourite? Let’s take a look at it.

Tata Nexon Design: Bold and road-dominant –

The new Nexon features a striking design that stays true to its aggressive character. The front gets a wide split LED headlamp setup with connected DRL strips, flanked by a bold bumper with silver skid plates on either side.

Nexon Exterior Features:

  1. Split LED headlamps with connected DRL strip.
  2. 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
  3. Panoramic sunroof with dual-tone colour options.

Updated bumpers and muscular wheel arches give it a commanding road presence, while the coupe-like roofline gives it a sporty and modern silhouette. Tata has kept the Nexon’s bold identity intact so that it stands apart on Indian roads.

Tata Nexon Interior and Features: Feature-rich and safe –

The Nexon’s interior comes with premium materials and class-leading technology. The dual-tone dashboard features a 12.3-inch touchscreen paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto making the cabin feel truly premium.

Nexon Interior Key Highlights:

  1. JBL 9-speaker premium sound system.
  2. Ventilated front seats and panoramic sunroof.
  3. ADAS Level 2 with 20+ safety features.
  4. Wireless phone charging and ambient lighting.

While the Hyundai Creta offers a more refined interior finish, the Nexon leads with a larger touchscreen and more ADAS features at a lower price point.

Tata Nexon Performance and Mileage: Power meets efficiency –

The Nexon comes with two engine options — a 1.2L turbo-petrol (120 bhp) and a 1.5L diesel (115 bhp). Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, AMT and 7-speed DCT automatic. The turbo-petrol engine is punchy and responsive, performing well both in city traffic and on open highways.

The ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency is 17.01 kmpl (turbo-petrol manual) and 24.08 kmpl (diesel manual). Tata also offers the Nexon EV with a claimed range of up to 465 km on a single charge, making it one of the most versatile compact SUVs in India.

Tata Nexon Price –

The new Nexon is priced between ₹8.10 lakh and ₹15.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon is significantly more affordable than the Hyundai Creta (₹11.11 – ₹19.65 lakh) and the Kia Seltos (₹10.90 – ₹20.35 lakh), making it the most value-packed compact SUV in the segment.

Verdict: Nexon is still the value king –

The Tata Nexon 2026 may not be the most premium or refined compact SUV, but what matters to Indian buyers is:

  1. India’s safest compact SUV with 5-star Global NCAP rating.
  2. Largest touchscreen in the segment at an affordable price.
  3. Petrol, diesel and EV powertrain options.
  4. Strong resale value and growing Tata service network.

While other manufacturers may offer a more polished cabin or smoother ride quality, the Nexon’s blend of safety, technology and aggressive pricing keeps it firmly at the top of the segment.
